Hi, I'm Burak, a Software Engineer at Microsoft in the Azure Postgres organization, and I live in Ankara, Turkey.

I've previously worked at Edge Delta (Series B Observability Startup). My contribution there spanned building backend services for querying data, contributing to the company's telemetry agent, building streaming anomaly detection using Apache Flink and building a complete agentic experience for the SRE/observability domain.

I'm interested in databases, query engines and systems programming in general. I've been contributing to the Apache DataFusion project on and off for a while and enjoy working on it. In the meantime, I'm working on Postgres extensions in my FTE job at Microsoft.

I plan to post 1-2 articles every month about database-related topics mainly talking about Postgres and Datafusion. Stay tuned!
